ASHRAE, established in 1894, is a global society improving human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The membership focuses on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration, and sustainability within the industry.
On October 5th – 7th, the “International Building Decarbonization 2022” Conference took place in Athens, Greece. The conference was organized by the ASHRAE Task Force for Building Decarbonization (TFBD) in collaboration with ASHRAE Hellenic Chapter, and aimed at bringing together engineers, architects, academics, professionals of different disciplines, and other stakeholders that may contribute to the built environment.
On Thursday 6th of October, a dedicated workshop of the LightCoce Open Innovation Test Bed was organized within the conference to cover “The Future of Construction Materials in the Decarbonization Era”. EXELISIS, as a partner of the LightCoce project, and shareholder of the LightCoce Private Company which is the established Single-Entry Point of the LightCoce OITB participated in the workshop.
On Friday 7th of October, our Project Manager Ms. Maria Tsianti delivered the presentation titled “Achieving Decarbonization through Open Innovation” during the Session 23 of the conference “Role of the building envelope”, highlighting the contribution of Open Innovation Test Beds, such as the LightCoce and BIOMAC projects, to the decarbonization of industries such as the construction and automotive.
