From May 26–27, 2025, EXELISIS had the pleasure of organising and hosting the 8th General Assembly of the SECRETed Project (H2020) in the heart of Athens, Greece. The meeting took place at a unique and culturally rich venue — a historic museum located in the picturesque neighborhood of Plaka, offering participants an inspiring setting for discussion and collaboration.
The assembly officially began on May 26 with a warm welcome by the Project Coordinator, followed by in-depth presentations from all Work Package leaders and team members. Each partner shared their recent progress, results, and ongoing challenges, showcasing the momentum the project has built over the past six months.
EXELISIS, as an active member of the SECRETed consortium and the event’s host, was proud to facilitate this important milestone in such a distinctive location. The first day concluded with a relaxed networking dinner in central Athens, giving participants the chance to unwind and strengthen team connections in an informal atmosphere.
Day 2 focused on monitoring and internal evaluation, with dedicated sessions assessing the overall status of the project and ensuring alignment as SECRETed moves into its final six months.
A key moment of the event was the virtual session with coordinators of the AIMS Cluster projects — MARBLES, InnCoCells, and Algae4IBD, in which SECRETed is a co-founding member. The exchange brought valuable insights on cross-project collaboration, shared challenges, and strategic alignment within the broader European bio-innovation ecosystem.
With excellent outcomes, impactful applications, and a clear path ahead, the SECRETed Project continues to demonstrate its value as it approaches its final phase — and EXELISIS remains fully committed to supporting its success.
This project has received funding for the European Union H2020’s research and innovation program under grant agreement number 101000794.
